St Mary le Bow Church, City of London, watercolour greeting card
St Mary le Bow Church, Cheapside, City of London watercolour style greeting card
Beautiful church on Cheapside, designed by Sir Christopher Wren. Rebuilt in 1670-1673 on top of a Norman crypt and its chapel dating from around 1080, Wren’s tower and steeple only survive today. The rest of the church was destroyed in WWII and rebuilt in modern style. The finest of Wren’s steeples, it is topped by a beautiful dragon weather vane.
Famous for the Bow Bells, within the sound of which a true Londoner was born.
